Josie Natori Fall 2017 RTW

Josie Natori took an Asian influence for her Fall 2017 collection and it turned out really sleek. I was not loving her choice of prints, but the designs overcome the mediocre choices. Her clothes scream "commander"! It's great. Nice job, Josie and team!

Alice + Olivia Fall 2017 RTW

Alice + Olivia brings out my inner wild child fantasy. IF I were childless and lived in a cool city, I would definitely include this label in my wardrobe. Since that is no longer the case, I will daydream about it....

Enjoy this awesome Fall 2017 collection!

Naeem Khan Fall 2017 RTW

Whoa Nelly Naeem Khan brought out the big guns for the millennials this season. Woo hoo!!! This man is SO SMART. You have to watch the whole show. It's incredible.

Here are my favorites below. The guy is a freaking fashion genius. I am obsessing...

Zac Posen Fall 2017 RTW

I was surprised by how much I liked Zac Posen's Fall 2017 collection. I also liked his ZAC by Zac Posen collection but decided not to create a post for it (there were't enough favorites to fill a post). It's simple with some improvements on classics which are very tasteful.

It was a bit annoying the way he modelled the photo shoot. It's difficult to see the full effect of the clothes and how they are designed when models are sitting in chairs and lounging.

Nevertheless, here are my favorites, enjoy!

Badgley Mischka Fall 2017 RTW

Badgley Mischka tried to bring the 1990's back in a BIG way. Well guys, you did it but I am not loving it (wahhhhh). This is going to be a dreary year (or years) until fashion gets out of this decade. I am not a happy camper. Bah humbug.

From the styles to the prints to the model's makeup and hair, it SCREAMS 1990's. I picked out a few that I liked but the rest can go in the trash. Sorry, Badgley Mischka... hope you change it up for Spring 2018!

Tory Burch Fall 2017 RTW

I love Tory Burch's Fall 2017 collection... it feels so pulled together.

This season so far has felt very mottled - an unwelcome throwback to the '90s. Maybe the election has everyone off-center, but I have been thoroughly unimpressed and uninspired by Fall 2017 designs. Tory comes through with a purpose and story behind her line (Katharine Hepburn's character, Tracy Lord, in The Philadelphia Story) and executes with precision all the way through the show. The models look spectacular and the clothes are exactly how Tory aimed for them to be. You can just tell when a season ends as planned.

So I applaud her for that, though I did not love all of her designs and styles. She brought in a lot of inspiration from the '70s (especially color palette) and I was just not feeling the color palette, the neck ties, nor some of the patterns (no more tweed, please!).

Here are my favorites below and applause to Tory Burch for keeping her head on straight through these troubling times and putting out a complete Fall 2017 collection all the way through to the finish.

Oscar de la Renta Fall 2017 RTW

I am still mourning Oscar de la Renta's death (in 2014). Things will never be the same for his label.

Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia fell short of the glory in this first season Fall 2017 but there were still enough good and interesting pieces to post about. Let's just hope they will have got the kinks worked out to produce a successful Spring 2018 collection. We are waiting with anticipation!!

Rosie Assoulin Fall 2017 RTW

I'm so intrigued by Rosie Assoulin. She has a fun, playful sense of design which is a happy change from the very serious big house designers. Her Fall 2017 collection was littered with housing references - fabrics mimicking traditional upholstery fabrics, wooden peg heeled mules, clay pot earrings. I also love interior design and homes so this collection struck a particular note with me.

Elizabeth Kennedy Fall 2017 RTW

This is the first time I've seen Elizabeth Kennedy's evening wear designs and they are quite stunning. I love the colors that she chose for Fall 2017. She has very art-like and fashion-forward designs, perfect for an awards show. Excited to see more of her work in future seasons!

Jenny Packham Fall 2017 RTW

Jenny Packham never disappoints for me. As a former sorority girl, I am definitely digging her preppy slant with the pearls and bows in this Fall 2017 collection. Applause for Jenny! Thank you for these beautiful designs!

Tadashi Shoji Fall 2017 RTW

So the velvets are seriously making a comeback this Fall. Tadashi Shoji went nuts with the material - I think he even went with some crushed velvet! Hell yeah. What have you got to lose, my friend?

The 90's are realllllllly trying to come back this year and there are some styles from that decade which merit another view but there are many (MANY) more that really should stay in the past. Some of Tadashi's designs were borderline atrocious (ahem variety of busy rose designs in color block) but I've given you my favorites below, which I do actually really really like.

How do you feel about the 90's returning?

Pamella Roland Fall 2017 RTW

Pamella Roland's Fall 2017 collection has lots of great textures including feathering, sparkles, velvets, and sheer. I liked the way she mixed and matched and created some very flattering formal-wear designs.

It's not my favorite collection of Pamella's, but I'm still a fan!

Andrew Gn Resort 2017

I have found the master of prints - Mr. Andrew Gn! You are about to have your mind blown by his Resort 2017 collection. I loved it! I think he mixed patterns beautifully and paired shoes and accessories very nicely.

What he messed up on was choosing THE WORST model ever. This must have been her first job. Bless her heart.

Ignoring her scared dead stares, the clothes are marvelous. Bravo, Andrew!

Self Portrait Fall 2017 RTW

These edgy and perfectly cool pieces from Self Portrait's Fall 2017 collection would be great for clubbing and "being seen." They are subtly sexy and interestingly paired with tights, which I am actually liking. The velvets are divine - as always for Fall (in my book!). And I loved Han Chong's shoes - the pointy-toe with ankle ties and the velvet boots in rad colors.

The high-waisted pants are coming back.... to kill us! Ahh I don't know how ready I am for that, but alas many designers are choosing that style this season. What do you think, yay or nay?

Warm Spring 2017 RTW

This easy breezy 1-year old label Warm hits all the right keys in their Spring 2017 collection. The designs and styles look like they came straight from India, which I am seriously digging. Comfortable, stylish, and traditional is how I would describe the collection.

I didn't include any photos of their sundresses and they have a lot of loungewear options which are beautiful, so jump over to to see the full collection.

Jonathan Simkhai Fall 2017 RTW

This is my first time reporting on Jonathan Simkhai's collection and it was very much up and down for me; the pieces I chose to post below are ones that I love. But the ones from the collection that I didn't post below are because I hated them. Strange how a designer can have that effect and reaction.

Check out the full collection here. Do you feel the same?

Alice + Olivia Spring 2017 RTW

Love, hippie and free flowing sexy clothes are on offer from Alice + Olivia for Spring 2017 RTW. Yes, yes and yes! I loved the colors - bases with splashes of bright deep colors. Lots of embroidery and patches/attach-ons, but not too much. I really really enjoyed this collection and hope that you do too!

Erin Fetherston Fall 2017 RTW

I am particularly drawn to the colors that Erin Fetherston chose for Fall 2017 - scarlet, olive green, black, and muted prints. The velvet designs are swoon-worthy.

She did some interesting things with tassels and fringe... I didn't post those designs here because they aren't my favorites but I encourage you to check out the full collection if that interests you. They were beautiful! Just not my thing. :)

Hervé Léger by Max Azria Resort 2017

These sexy dresses from the Hervé Léger by Max Azria Resort 2017 collection are calling my name. The lines, angles and colors are perfect and sharp. They accentuate every delicious curve. This is exactly what I want when I shop for Resort clothing. What about you?

Alexander McQueen Resort 2017

I am very pleasantly surprised with Alexander McQueen's Resort 2017 collection! I have to say, I'm usually an A McQueen hater... it's always been too dark and wild and unrealistic. But Resort 2017 has some VERY intricate and stunningly beautiful and interesting designs.

Big kudos to head designer Sarah Burton and her team for changing my mind!

Valentino Spring 2017 RTW

Mmmm not a big fan of Bravo Pierpaolo Piccioli (what an Italian name!) of Valentino's Spring 2017 collection. :(

Models looked terrible, bad mix of colors, too much sheer. But I will stay true to my love of the fashion house and share the few pieces that I did like.

Fingers crossed that Fall 2017 will be better!

Wednesday, February 8, 2017

Well, well, well

Look what we have here... a new post after 1.5 years!

I moved countries, started a new (demanding) job, raised a small child, and got married. Sue me for the delay. ;)

Tomorrow starts the Fall/Winter 2017 fashion shows so I'm going to do my best to keep up with my favorites throughout the week and share them here.

But first, I'm going back to Spring/Summer 2017 since I missed it last year and the warm season is my favorite. I'll post as many favorites from that season as possible, maybe interspersed with the Fall/Winter to brighten things up a bit.

Get ready for runway madness!
