Pencil vs. Camera by Ben Heine

I was blown away by these 3-D drawings from Ben Heine, born in the Ivory Coast and raised in Belgium from the age of 7.

I think he's an incredible artist and these 3-D drawings aren't even what he specializes in. I'll post more of his work soon!

He titles these projects "Pencil vs. Camera" and the concept is a mix of drawing, photography, imagination and reality.

Take a look at the process for this 3-D Tiger in a forest:

INCREDIBLE, right?

Here are some others from his "Pencil vs. Camera" collection:

[Tattoo Tuesdays] Silvano Fiato

Today's spectacular artist is an Italian from Genoa, a large city on the northern coast of Italy. Eight years ago, Silvano Fiato opened his tattoo shop in Genoa and is now world-renowned for his incredibly realistic work.

Don't take my word for it, take a look yourself!

[Monday Models] Cara Delevingne

Today's model is the English girl Cara Delevingne. She's the first English model I have profiled and a fine first choice if I do say so myself. :)

Cara is a piping 21 years old and is full of spunk. She comes from a wealthy publishing family, which  helped her gain socialite status.

She's actually relatively new on the modelling scene, first signing with Burberry in 2011 which launched her name. She became known for her big bushy brown eyebrows and blue/green eyes, and now she's ranked #5 in the Top 50 Models list!

Probably the coolest thing about Cara is how diverse her interests are. She loves to act, sing and play the drums.

And believe it or not, she has almost 5 million followers on Instagram. Holy sh*t!

Check out what Cara has been up to recently...

[Street Art Sundays] Smates

Honestly, some people just have the artist gift and it's a sin to not use it.

Smates (real name Bart Smeets) is a Belgic artist who creates incredibly life-like paintings. I love how he has taken his style to the streets!

His work is so amazing that many of the work you see below has been commissioned (paid-for requested pieces).

Piotr Bockenheim's Carved Goose Shells

Umm so this is really insane. Piotr Bockenheim takes goose eggshells and miraculously transforms them into the most beautifully carved pieces EVER.

Don't lose your mind, ok?

[Fashion Fridays] Aurelio Costarella

Wow - I'm amazed for two reasons.

1. Aurelio Costarella has some beautifully intriguing designs.

2. The models at the Australian Fashion Show are the worst I have ever seen. (sorrynotsorry)

Let's stay positive and focus on Aurelio. He's dresses for the likes of Rihanna and Dita Von Teese, so we know he's got a sexy edge to him.

I liked his Spring/Summer 2015 collection, though the models had me so distracted by their embarrassing walks that it was hard to focus... nevertheless, here were my favourites:

Who says typography isn't cool???

Niels Shoe Meulman's Calligraffiti

"Calligraffiti" - what a great name!

This is my first posting of calligraphy, but a little know secret is that I love lettering. There's something about words and languages that makes my heart sing... hence why I find letters so intriguing.

Niels Shoe Meulman is a very talented and creative Dutchman. He created a beautiful concept which he coined "Calligraffiti". As you can probably guess, it is a combination of Calligraphy and Graffiti. His definition is: "traditional handwriting with a metropolitan attitude."

Suffice it to say, it's super cool and I love it!

[All of these photos below are part of Niels' new work with acrylic and pearlescent paint on canvas and they change color at an angle.]

[Tattoo Tuesdays] Lippo

Talk about life-like! Wow - Lippo's tattoos are absolutely incredible. The way that this Italian artist is able to "paint" tattoos on skin as if it were a canvas is amazing.

I could have posted dozens of his photos, so if you really like his work, I recommend checking out his Facebook page, Tattoo.com profile, and Pinterest.

[Monday Models] Constance Jablonski

Constance Jablonski is the first French model that I have profiled! That's a bit surprising considering France has the second largest number of female models in Western Europe (behind the UK).

Constance is big time, and she's only 23 years old (she just celebrated her birthday on April 17th!). She's been doing the professional modelling thing since she was 15, however!

Like many models, she entered a modelling contest and did well enough to be granted a contract by Elite Models in Paris.

Constance is known for her striking big blue eyes and light-brown/blonde hair. She has developed this STARE that stops you in your tracks. :)

She's also ranked #11 on the Top 50 Models Ranking and #22 on the Top Money Girls ranking. Signing with Estée Lauder in 2010 certainly gave her that big push!

Here's what she's been up to lately...

[Street Art Sundays] MemeIRL

MemeIRL is a group of three French artists who do most of their work in France. I love their fun cartoons, and their political and social messages too!
