Edward Burtynsky's Incredible Aerial Views

Get ready to be blown away by these photographs.

They were taken by Edward Burtynsky for his project called "Water".

Mr. Burtynsky's work is my new obsession, as I highly respect artists who are producing beautiful work while also highlighting REAL environmental problems. So you will probably see more of his projects on my blog in the future. :)

Super Long Hiatus

Well hello there...

It's been awhile but I'm back in blogging mode. Get excited!!

It seems so long ago, but I did enjoy a great vacation in October so I'll share some fun pictures with you now. :)

I had a month off, so I went home to visit my family in Atlanta, Georgia for a week.

Me, my mom and my grandma :)
Then I spent a week with my boyfriend's family on the coast of Panamá.

Hopefully this will be the view from our future house!

Then we spent a week visiting my boyfriend's brothers in Bocas del Toro.

Then we spent the last week at home, resting and doing some home renovations!

November has been quite uneventful. I've been spending my weekends painting and shopping for the house. :) Maybe I'll post pictures at some point.

What have ya'll been up to? Have I convinced you to come to Panamá yet? :)

[Street Art Sundays] Birds by L7m

Today's artist is Brazilian-born L7m. His biography states the messages behind his pieces, found in Sao Paulo, Luxembourg and Belgium: "Everything generates the chaos, [from] the mixture of outlooks and feelings to the materials and medias utilized. The revolt by the human sorrow, the beauty of life, the city's disarray, the neglect and the surroundings, all this things transposed and influencing the works of this artist, who evolved with all his feelings focused in the street art."

I'll let his artwork do the rest of the talking.

[Street Art Sundays] 1010's 3D Illusions

Welcome back to Street Art Sundays! I'm loving this weekly series and I hope you are too.

Today's pieces come from artist 1010, another German graffitist. I love how his images are totally lifelike. They'll make you do a double-take!

[Street Art Sundays] MadC in Leipzig, Germany

Welcome to the first Street Art Sundays post!

I was planning on doing a feature post about Street Art, but the genre is so much larger than I anticipated. And that's great news! I'm going to turn it into a weekly post, every Sunday, because I really love Street Art and am so happy to see how well it is being documented.

There is something magical and super special about really well done graffiti or street art. Artists are now using all sorts of materials, not just spray paint. The artists aren't painting gang signs, but a huge range of pieces from political-based messages to flowers and cartoon characters. They see an abandoned space and want to beautify it. A huge wall is as much of a canvas as a square on an easel.

To start off the series, here is an incredible piece by MadC done in Leipzig, Germany, MadC's home country.
