argent |ˈärjənt|adjective poetic/literary & Heraldrysilver; silvery white the argent moon.noun Heraldrysilver as a heraldic tincture.

Almost done with the Christmas tree. I'll try to take a picture of it and post it over the weekend. I'm bad at uploading pictures so don't hate me if I don't get around to it until January. Just managing expectations here.

I forgot to tell you that the Clementine Spice Cake was very good. It is a delicious cake. I'm not even that huge of a cake fan - I'm an icing girl. I don't like dry things. I need some wetness in all of my dishes, even dessert. So back to the point - it's not necessarily my cake of choice because there was too much cake and not enough icing. BUT I would definitely recommend it for a holiday treat because it is different and also a great way to use up clementines (which always seems to pile up during the holidays).

I can't wait to give presents this year. I actually spent time thinking about each person and what they would truly enjoy and I think all of my recipients are going to be thrilled! *fingers crossed* I always get nervous when I give gifts.

antechapel |ˈantēˌ ch apəl|nouna vestibule for a college chapel, lying beyond the west end of the nave.

I am so excited about Christmas this year! Today is more Christmas shopping, specifically for things that I am going to use to make presents out of. Yes, I am in the project mood this year.

And we're buying a little tree for our apartment tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been like 100 years since I've had a real Christmas tree. My mom got on the fake tree kick and then she turned into a bah humbug after us kids left and only puts up a Christmas tree cross. Which is still pretty cool since the main reason of Christmas is CHRIST. But, the point is, I am so excited for a real tree!

This is what I want to do with my man right now. Lay in bed all wrapped up in each other. Warm. I hate winter. The Life and Times of Sticks and Bricks

Head to toe we match you know.
Together watching the falling snow,
Staying warm beside the fire, looking out the window.
I’m loving everything you say and do,
Tell you when you say you feel it too,
I’m gonna say that you’re the one, and that my search is done.
‘Cause you,
You make me feel,
That everything is going right,
That I can go to sleep tonight,
And awake to find you here.
You make me feel,
That everything is going right,
That I can go to sleep tonight,
And I wake up to your voice, down, blankets and pillows.

glamazon |ˈglaməˌzän; -zən|noun informala glamorous, powerfully assertive woman.

this weekend was GREAT. i am such a little homemaker sometimes. what makes us go back and forth between two lives? for me it's ultimate career woman ('slash' b-i-t-c-h sometimes) to bible-reading maid and chef. no complaints here, just curiosity about human nature.

but i cleaned the entire apartment, which felt fantastic. then i finally put up the shelf above the tv and decorated it with the wine bottles i have been saving. it looks really good if i do say so myself. and i ran lots of errands that needed to be done. and i slept in saturday AND sunday.

fabliau |ˈfablēˌō|noun ( pl. -aux |-ˌōz|) a metrical tale, typically a bawdily humorous one, of a type found chiefly in early French poetry.

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I went low-key this year. Me and Mona got silly and dressed up as Boy Scouts. I also donned a nautical ritzy yacht costume complete with a blowup fish. We had a special photo shoot, the fish and I. :) Anne laughed at us and then joined in on the fun by dressing up in one of Mona's authentic Persian dresses. That was a great photo shoot!

I'm cooking the pumpkin that I carved for Halloween. Should I make pumpkin muffins, pumpkin bread, roasted pumpkin and vegetables, pumpkin casserole....? Possibilities are endless!

vogue |vōg|noun [usu. in sing. ]the prevailing fashion or style at a particular time : the vogue is to make realistic films.general acceptance or favor; popularity : the 1920s and 30s, when art deco was much in vogue.

Saturday To-Do List:
1. Laundry
2. Buy toothpaste
3. Fetch mail

That is the shortest list I have had in a loooooong time. I feel a little selfish, but I guess it's ok every once in a while. :)

I made some yum parmesan buttermilk biscuits this morning. Here's my recipe:

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tbsps cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
1 and 1/2 cups cold buttermilk
3/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Heat oven to 500 degrees. Spray 9-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spray inside and outside of 1/4 measuring cup with nonstick cooking spray. Flour a baking sheet.
In food processor, pulse flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda until mixed. Scatter butter cubes over dry ingredients and pulse until mixture becomes pebbly. Transfer mix to bowl and add buttermilk and parmesan cheese. Stir with spatula until just incorporated (dough will be wet and fluffy).
Using the 1/4 measuring cup scoop level amount of dough onto floured baking sheet (should make 12 mounds). Dust tops of dough with flour. With floured hands, pick up mound and form into a ball shaking off the excess flour. Place in prepared cake pan. Repeat with each mound, placing formed balls 9 around perimeter of pan and 3 in the middle. Brush the tops with buttermilk and sprinkle extra parmesan cheese on top.
Bake 5 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 450 degrees and bake another 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Cool in pan 2 minutes, then invert biscuits from pan onto clean kitchen towel. Turn biscuits right-side up and break apart. Cool 5 minutes and serve. To reheat - place on baking sheet in 475 degree oven for 5-7 minutes.

I'm on a big glass bottle kick. I've saved up probably 10 wine bottles and I'm going to make something really cool with them... probably next year though. Pretty Good
